D.O.N.K.E.Y.
Today after Ruma Iwa and Ruma Whitu went to the library, we played a game called D.O.N.K.E.Y. on the field.
We got into groups and made some circles. Then we passed a ball around and if you dropped the ball then you would be a "D". Then once someone in our group dropped the ball enough times they spelled DONKEY. They would be the loser. After we could still play on moving onto Mule and then Horse.
When it finished our group had got to mule. Everyone loved the game and saw some pretty good catches.

Talking Picture Books
In Ruma Iwa we have been making picture books in groups. To make our books a little more interesting we turned them into talking picture books.

PINOCCHIO PUPPETS
In Ruma Iwa we made Pinocchio puppets because we read the fairytale Pinocchio. We thought it would be cool to have our own puppets.
First we were given paper templates of Pinocchio. Once that was done we coloured each piece in.
Then we cut each piece out and wrote our initials on each piece.
Next we put each piece together with wire.
finally we stuck string on so it would be like a real puppet.

Mason's Hip
Mason has a rare bone disease. It’s called Perthes' disease. It was in Mason’s right leg. He had to have some surgery to fix it up last term and so had to take some time off school. He is back now and check out some photos of the metal rod and bolts that were in his right leg.
